Doosan Robotics: Collaborative Arms and P3020 Palletizing Systems
Doosan Robotics offers collaborative arms and the five-axis P3020 palletizing robot. Compare task geometry, controller versions, tooling and whole-cell integration before selecting an offer.
Company and application focus
Doosan Robotics is a South Korean robotics company within the Doosan group. Its company overview describes the business's development from 2015 and its focus on robot solutions for industrial applications. The relevant purchasing boundary is the robotics company and its contracted partners, rather than unrelated Doosan businesses. Confirm the legal supplier and responsible integrator in each regional offer.
M1013 as a six-axis reference
The version 3.2.2 M1013 manual identifies a six-axis robot with a 10 kg load rating and 1,300 mm reach. These figures describe that model and documentation version. For machine tending or assembly, evaluate wrist orientation, tool mass, centre of gravity and approach paths. A nominal load rating is not an approval for every acceleration or off-centre tool arrangement.
P3020 for palletizing
The P3020 product page describes a five-axis palletizing robot rated at 30 kg with 2,030 mm reach. Its task-specific architecture differs from a general six-axis arm. Check carton dimensions, stack pattern, pallet locations and required approach directions. Include the gripping tool and any handling attachments when reviewing load, and verify the complete pallet envelope in the proposed layout.
What the unveiling establishes
Doosan's 7 May 2024 announcement introduced the P-series at Automate in Chicago and described release plans at that time. It also discussed manufacturing demonstrations such as machine tending and depalletizing. This establishes product history and application intent. It does not establish current regional inventory, completed customer acceptance or a guaranteed palletizing rate for the reader's packaging.
Collaborative operation needs a cell assessment
The M/H-series risk-assessment guidance makes the complete application and integration responsibilities central to safe use. Apply the documentation appropriate to the delivered model; M/H instructions are not a substitute for the P-series manual. The workpiece, gripper, neighbouring equipment and people approaching the pallet can change the assessment even when the arm itself has protective functions.
Specify controls and peripheral behaviour
Record the controller and software versions, teaching interface, communication protocols and required options. Define how the robot receives jobs, detects a successful grip and reports a completed placement. For palletizing, include pallet-presence checks, replenishment, rejected cartons and changes in stack patterns. Assign ownership of interfaces between the robot, conveyor, sensors and warehouse or production software.
Request a complete local offer
Ask the supplier to separate arm and controller supply from tooling, base or lift equipment, engineering, installation and training. Confirm who provides destination-specific documentation, service and replacement parts. Establish access requirements for remote support and procedures for software changes. A manufacturer's general network description does not confirm service response, warranty coverage or delivery timing for a particular site.
Test accepted output and recovery
A useful trial measures correctly completed work through normal variation, pauses and restarts. Include tool change, shift handover, empty input and interrupted cycles. Agree who approves the configuration and which changes require further review. Prepare Write a Robotics Buyer Brief, compare Industrial & Collaborative Robots, or use Robotics RFQ.
