AGIBOT: Humanoid Platforms and X2 Configuration Choices
AGIBOT develops humanoid platforms including X2 and X2 Ultra. Examine model-specific sensing, a dated Malaysia preview and software-support commitments before defining a deployment scope.
Company identity and portfolio boundary
AGIBOT's English company page identifies the Shanghai robotics business as AGIBOT Innovation (Shanghai) Technology Co., Ltd., founded in February 2023. Its Chinese corporate profile uses the current Chinese name 智元创新(上海)科技股份有限公司. Confirm the legal name on a quotation against the contracting company's registration. AGIBOT and Zhiyuan refer to this business; individual product names should not be counted as separate robot manufacturers.
Distinguish X2 from X2 Ultra
The official X2 product comparison distinguishes the standard X2 from X2 Ultra. LiDAR and an RGB-D camera are listed for Ultra and not the standard model. Optional OmniHand and OmniPicker end effectors are also identified for Ultra. These differences matter when evaluating perception or handling demonstrations: request the exact demonstrated configuration and verify that it matches the equipment being offered.
Use a dated demonstration carefully
In its 3 September 2026 announcement, AGIBOT described a Resorts World Genting preview held on 29 August in Malaysia, featuring X2, A3 and D1 robots. The announcement said a full public debut was expected in February 2027. The August preview is a reported past event; the February opening remains a future plan as of this review. Neither establishes sustained operation or acceptance at a different customer site.
Define the intended humanoid task
Specify whether the robot will welcome visitors, perform a scheduled presentation, support research or handle a defined object. Request an uninterrupted trial with the expected audience, surfaces and interruptions. Establish which movements and decisions are autonomous and where an operator, prepared routine or remote service is involved. A portfolio demonstration should not be converted into a promise that one selected model can perform every activity shown.
Match accessories and integration scope
Ask for the supplied hands, sensors, computing resources, chargers and development tools as an itemised configuration. Define the interfaces available to your application and which modifications require supplier involvement. For manipulation, test the actual object and recovery from unsuccessful grasps. For interaction, test speech and sensing under realistic conditions. Include installation, mapping where applicable, commissioning and training responsibilities in the same scope.
Verify the security support horizon
AGIBOT's published Defined Support Period lists 1 January 2027 as the end date for security updates for X2 Ultra. This is a specific published support statement, not a hardware warranty or proof of support for another model. Before procurement, request written confirmation of the applicable product and software version, any revised commitment, update delivery and the operating arrangements after that date.
Set regional and site responsibilities
Confirm which legal entity supplies the robot, who provides local servicing and whether the proposed configuration can be delivered for the destination. Agree installation conditions, operator training, supervision, incident response and spare-parts arrangements. Establish permissions and retention for captured audio, images and operational data. A regional exhibition or preview does not by itself establish local service coverage or approval for every public-space application.
Accept a measured deployment scope
Agree measurable task outcomes, intervention reporting, recovery procedures and the conditions that require stopping operation. Keep future feature commitments separate from the functions demonstrated at acceptance. Compare the full supported configuration and continuing services when evaluating offers.
