ForwardX Robotics: Mobile Robots for Manufacturing and Warehouses
Assess ForwardX mobile robot families and f(x) Fleet Manager, with a dated Chery factory example and practical questions on interfaces, load handling, commissioning and support.
Company identity and business scope
ForwardX Robotics supplies autonomous mobile robot solutions for manufacturing and warehouse operations. Its official privacy policy identifies ForwardX Technology (Anhui) Co., Ltd. as the website operator. Confirm the legal entity responsible for the destination project and its relationship with any local distributor or integrator. This profile covers the ForwardX business; individual robot series and fleet software are not separate companies.
Robot families and load movement
The current product portfolio presents Flex, Max, Lynx and Apex families. Selection should begin with the physical load interface and process rather than a brand-wide payload figure. Request the exact model, top module, carrier, load dimensions and operating envelope. Towing a cart, carrying material and handling a pallet create different loading, stability and handoff requirements that should be documented separately.
Fleet software and workflow configuration
f(x) Fleet Manager provides deployment and mapping tools, workflow configuration, monitoring and third-party API integration. Its dashboard includes robot and task information. Ask which functions are available in the proposed version and which require project engineering. A demonstrated dashboard should be accompanied by interface documentation, user permissions, event export and an explanation of behavior when a connected business system becomes unavailable.
Chery factory evidence with a date
In a 12 May 2025 account of Chery's Dalian factory, ForwardX reports a deployment of 435 AMRs, including Flex and Max units and Lynx towing equipment. The article describes material delivery supporting manufacturing. This is supplier-reported deployment evidence for that site. It does not establish the fleet size, production rate or return on investment achievable in another factory.
Integration from material request to delivery
Define where a delivery request originates, how the load is identified, who confirms pickup and how completion reaches the production or warehouse system. Include traffic controls, doors, conveyors and line-side signals where relevant. Assign responsibility for partially completed work and inventory reconciliation after a fault. Test priority changes and blocked destinations so that the operational consequences are visible before the fleet enters routine service.
Site readiness and operational acceptance
A site survey should capture floor condition, slopes, aisle restrictions, pedestrian crossings and changes between shifts. Request evaluation with the buyer's actual carriers and the heaviest permitted load configuration. Acceptance should measure successful delivery at the intended destination, intervention frequency and recovery time. Agree how temporary obstructions, depleted batteries and communications failures will be introduced and recovered during testing without disrupting existing production unnecessarily.
Commercial and regional questions
Who supplies and maintains the load carrier, robot attachment and charging infrastructure?
Which interfaces, software licenses and future workflow changes are included?
What local service coverage, replacement stock and escalation hours are contracted?
Which customer references use the same robot configuration and operating conditions?
Ask for a regional support plan with named responsibilities. Company-wide international activity should not be treated as proof that every location has the same spare-parts availability or response time.
Preparing a comparable purchasing brief
Compare ForwardX with other Mobile & Logistics Robotics suppliers using a common material-flow description. Write a Robotics Buyer Brief that records loads, interfaces, operating hours and acceptance conditions. Use the Robotics RFQ guidance to request costs and evidence for the complete delivery process, including the work retained by the buyer.
