Ecorobotix SA: AI-Guided Precision Spraying Systems
Explore Ecorobotix's ARA precision sprayers and crop-specific software, with dated product evidence and questions on tractor compatibility, agronomic validation and support.
Swiss company and current business
Ecorobotix SA is based in Yverdon-les-Bains, Switzerland, and develops precision agricultural spraying technology. Its current ARA offering uses machine vision and controlled application equipment. The company's historical AVO autonomous-vehicle development should not be treated as evidence that AVO is the product currently being offered. This profile focuses on the present spraying business and its associated software within agricultural robotics.
ARA equipment and tractor dependence
The ARA620 product page describes a tractor-mounted precision sprayer using cameras and crop recognition to control targeted spraying. Its tractor, hitch, power and hydraulic requirements belong in the equipment specification. This is not evidence of an independently driving field robot. Ask the supplier to inspect the proposed tractor and confirm compatibility with the complete tank, implement and control configuration.
Crop algorithms and product variants
Ecorobotix announced its carrot algorithm as a paid ARA feature on 8 January 2025. A separate 30 June 2026 announcement introduced ARA595 for irrigated crop layouts in the western United States. Model geometry and crop-software availability therefore need explicit confirmation. Do not assume an algorithm or mechanical arrangement supplied in one region is included with every ARA quotation.
Published grower application evidence
The current carrot application page includes an undated account from German vegetable grower Dennis Großhans describing targeted treatment in carrot production. This is supplier-published user evidence, reviewed in September 2026. It does not independently establish a particular reduction in chemical use or yield improvement for another farm. Request comparable evidence for the crop, growth stage and weed population that matter to the buyer.
Designing an agronomic evaluation
Prepare field boundaries, bed layout, crop varieties, growth stages and representative weed conditions. Agree the treatment objective with the farm's agronomic adviser and identify a suitable comparison method. Record missed targets, unwanted crop treatment, coverage and total operating time, including preparation and cleaning. Separate machine recognition results from agronomic outcomes observed later. A visually precise spray demonstration alone does not establish the effectiveness of the complete treatment program.
Integration and ongoing operations
Confirm how prescriptions, positioning information and operating records enter or leave the selected configuration. Specify who manages algorithm updates, task setup and data retention. Ask for training on calibration, nozzle checks, fluid-system cleaning and recovery from interrupted work. Establish whether the farm needs additional storage, washing facilities, transport arrangements or consumables, and include those requirements in the installation plan and operating-cost comparison.
Regional and commercial boundaries
Which crop algorithms are licensed, and what are their renewal and update terms?
Which model is appropriate for the local bed geometry and tractor?
Who provides regional service during the crop treatment season?
What evidence supports the proposed treatment program under local conditions?
Confirm permitted products and application conditions with the relevant local agronomic and regulatory sources. Manufacturer savings claims should be tested against the farm's baseline, seasonal workload and complete cost of ownership.
