ROBOTERA: L7 Humanoids, Q5 Service Platforms and XHAND
Review ROBOTERA’s humanoid bodies, dexterous hands and ERA-42 positioning, separating CES demonstrations and product ratings from validated performance in a buyer’s workflow.
Company identity and operating focus
ROBOTERA's company page states that the business was founded in August 2023 and lists a Beijing address. Its current English footer identifies Beijing Xingdongjiyuan Co., Ltd. The company develops humanoid hardware, dexterous hands and embodied AI. This profile groups those products under one supplier, rather than counting L7, Q5 or the XHAND variants as separate companies.
L7 bipedal hardware and configuration
The current L7 product page presents a full-size bipedal robot with 55 degrees of freedom when fitted with its dexterous hands, a listed 1.71 m height and a 20 kg dual-arm payload. It also distinguishes the M7 upper-body configuration. Ask how the payload was measured, which hands are included and what performance applies while walking. A maximum combined-arm rating should not be treated as a guaranteed single-hand or continuous moving load.
Q5 and the dexterous-hand family
The official product portfolio includes Q5, M7 and XHAND 1, Lite and PRO variants alongside L7. A manufacturer-issued January 2026 CES release describes Q5 as a wheeled humanoid and XHAND1 as a directly driven dexterous hand. Compare the body, hand and sensing configuration as a system. A hand's lifting claim does not establish the corresponding capacity of a complete robot arm or mobile platform.
ERA-42 and application development
ROBOTERA presents ERA-42 as its vision-language-action model. Treat this as the supplier's software positioning and request the exact deployment arrangement: model access, supported hardware, required compute, data collection and available interfaces. Clarify whether the quotation includes a trained task, a development environment or hardware alone. Identify where inference runs, which information leaves the site and who maintains the application after updates.
What the CES evidence demonstrates
The 8 January 2026 release describes L7 full-body teleoperation and Q5 interactions with exhibition visitors. These are manufacturer-reported demonstrations. They should not be represented as proof that the same actions run autonomously and repeatedly in an unattended production environment. Request a test using the selected hardware and the buyer's objects, with the operator's role, task preparation and resets disclosed. Keep any reported shipment totals separate from verified installations for a particular workflow.
Testing a complete humanoid task
Agree the starting state, object variations, placement tolerance and conditions for a successful task. Record acceptable completions, failed grasps, human interventions and recovery time across repeated trials. Include realistic changes in object position and a stopped task, under a controlled evaluation arrangement. For a biped, examine workspace access and recovery provisions along with manipulation. For a wheeled body, assess floor transitions and clearances. Benchmark each proposed architecture against the same operational requirement.
Delivery, development and lifecycle scope
Which robot body, hand version, cameras, compute and batteries are supplied?
Are task software, teleoperation equipment and training data included?
Who owns system integration, testing and ongoing model maintenance?
Which parts can be replaced locally and what repair turnaround is offered?
Obtain destination-specific availability and commissioning requirements. Separate hardware price from training, data preparation, software access and field support. Request a versioned parts list and an agreed change process so later substitutions do not silently alter the accepted configuration.
