Agtonomy: Factory-Integrated Autonomy for Tractors and Field Tasks
Review Agtonomy Platform, OEM integration, implement compatibility and farm task supervision, with TeleFarmer history and deployment boundaries.
Company and delivery model
Agtonomy is a California-based software, services and technology company. Its company page dates its founding to 2021. The business embeds automation into equipment through manufacturer partnerships, serving agriculture and other off-road work. A proposal should identify both the equipment supplier and the party responsible for autonomy, training and continuing service.
From TeleFarmer to Agtonomy Platform
Agtonomy introduced TeleFarmer in February 2023 as software, an operator service and an electric reference tractor. Its April 2025 third-generation announcement renamed the offering Agtonomy Platform and expanded its stated scope to mixed equipment fleets, turf and open-field work. TeleFarmer is a historical product name, not a separate company.
Supported machinery and tasks
The current FAQ names Kubota and Bobcat as OEM partners and describes availability on compact and mid-size tractors from 45 to 112 hp. Tasks include mowing, spraying, weeding and hauling. That range does not imply compatibility with every tractor or implement. Confirm the exact factory-enabled machine, attachment, controller and software before comparing proposals.
Planning and supervision
The platform lets operators plan tasks, monitor progress and equipment health, and review results through an app or online interface. The operating plan should name who responds to alerts, handles maintenance and checks the field after an interruption. Remote monitoring is not evidence that a farm can dispense with supervision.
Connectivity and site preparation
The April 2025 release describes cellular and Starlink connectivity on the latest enabled platforms, and remote setup where suitable 3D satellite imagery is available. Keep those qualifications attached to the claim. Check coverage, imagery, boundaries, headlands and transfer routes; agree what happens when communications or positioning quality deteriorates.
Implements and evolving software
The multi-point-turn announcement describes reversing manoeuvres for tighter headlands and an Agtonomy Implement Library for integration. Its broad implement count is not proof of compatibility with a specific tool. Ask for the relevant configuration, software release and validation record. Keep vehicle navigation, application work and collection of field data as separate acceptance items.
Assess commercial and service scope
The supplier FAQ lists seasonal rentals, multi-year leases and purchase options, alongside training, diagnostics and updates. Terms require a current location-specific proposal. Evaluate a representative task with the selected tractor and implement, recording work quality, interventions and total time. Clarify data access, update responsibility, service coverage and recovery support before comparing costs.
