Company Profile: Apptronik, Inc.
A public-source profile of Apptronik covering Apollo 2, robot training operations, dated industrial partnerships and procurement questions for humanoid deployments.
Company and industrial focus
Apptronik develops humanoid robots for work in environments designed around people. Founded in 2016 from the Human Centered Robotics Lab at the University of Texas at Austin, it initially targets manufacturing and logistics. Its company history includes work on NASA's Valkyrie. Healthcare and household applications are longer-term ambitions rather than evidence of a medical device or a generally available home robot. Company background; current application focus.
Apollo 2 and configuration choices
The current product page presents Apollo 2 with bipedal and wheeled mobility options. It describes swappable batteries, opportunity charging and tethered power, together with lighting, speech and a chest display for communicating robot status. These are platform descriptions; a buyer should specify the offered mobility base, charging arrangement and task configuration in the proposal. Earlier Apollo specifications should not automatically be carried over to Apollo 2. Apollo 2 platform.
Robot software and fleet operations
Apptronik describes Artemis as coordinating perception, planning, controls, task execution and human interaction. Fleet Connect is its operational layer for monitoring robots, coordinating tasks, managing deployments and collecting data. The same page describes configurable perimeter and impact zones. Buyers should request the exact software release, integration interfaces, support responsibilities and evidence for their proposed safety arrangement. Platform-level safety language does not establish approval for every task or facility. Software and safety descriptions.
Robot Park and the development boundary
On June 30, 2026, Apptronik announced its expanded Robot Park in Austin and identified Apollo 2 as a data-collection and training platform. It reported related workflows at Google DeepMind and customers including Mercedes-Benz and GXO, combining teleoperation with autonomous execution. The release says this work feeds Gemini Robotics and development of the next-generation commercial product, Apollo 3. Existing training fleets therefore should not be read as proof that Apollo 3 is already shipping, or that every demonstrated task operates without assistance. June 2026 Robot Park announcement.
Dated manufacturing and logistics programs
The March 15, 2024 Mercedes-Benz agreement described a pilot exploring parts delivery, kit handling and component inspection. GXO's June 20, 2024 announcement described early proof-of-concept work, with laboratory evaluation preceding a planned US distribution-center phase. These releases document specific evaluation programs rather than a general rollout across either customer's facilities. Mercedes-Benz pilot; GXO research program.
On February 25, 2025, Apptronik and Jabil announced a manufacturing collaboration and pilot involving inspection, sorting, kitting, line-side delivery and other repetitive tasks. The announcement also positioned Jabil as a manufacturing partner for Apollo. Planned production capacity and pilot objectives are distinct from verified customer acceptance or sustained production output. Jabil collaboration.
Questions for a facility evaluation
Which robot generation and mobility base are proposed, and which tasks are currently supported?
What objects, weights, grasp surfaces, aisle widths and handover points define the test?
What proportion of operation requires teleoperation, supervision or exception recovery?
How are task completion, intervention frequency, damage and downtime measured over a representative shift?
Who owns integrations, data access, risk assessment, charging infrastructure and acceptance testing?
These questions turn the manufacturer's broad industrial application descriptions into a measurable site brief. Apptronik applications.
Commercial contact and international planning
Apptronik's official contact page accepts operational and partnership inquiries. A useful request identifies the destination country, facility, workflow, intended evaluation date and the responsible integration team. Ask whether the engagement is a research collaboration, paid pilot or production supply proposal; obtain written terms for equipment, software, training, maintenance and local support. International partner activity alone does not establish availability in every country. Contact Apptronik.
Evidence limits and next steps
The cited materials are company and partner announcements, not independent benchmarks. They establish named programs and the product direction described at their publication dates, while leaving procurement-specific pricing, delivery dates and performance commitments to a written offer. In particular, the June 2026 release separates Apollo 2 training operations from the future Apollo 3 commercial product. Product-generation context.
