A Practical Calibration Checklist
Four calibration situations that decide whether accuracy targets are met.
Four situations
Tool frame calibration (required after every tooling change), workpiece or user frame calibration, relative calibration between cooperating robots, and hand-eye calibration for vision.
Verify after calibrating
Check against a known point or master part, confirm the deviation is within tolerance, and record the date and result.
Common mistakes
Too few calibration points, no record after calibration, and forgetting to recalibrate after changing fixtures.
