How to Read Safety Requirements from Standards
Safety requirements usually come from two sources: regulation and mandatory standards.
Two sources
Explicit clauses in laws and regulations, and mandatory national standards. Both must be satisfied.
Typical content
Mechanical guarding, electrical safety, emergency stop and safety circuits, limit and overload protection, warning signs and instructions for use.
Recommendation
Build a compliance list at project start with the clause reference and how it will be met, then verify each item at acceptance.
