Definitions
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Resolution | Smallest change the system can distinguish |
| Repeatability | Spread when returning to the same commanded point |
| Accuracy | Deviation from the true commanded position |
Why it matters
High resolution does not imply high accuracy; good repeatability does not imply good absolute accuracy. A robot can return to the same wrong point very consistently.
What to request
Test standard, measuring equipment and temperature conditions for every accuracy figure you accept.
