Company Profile: NVIDIA Corporation
NVIDIA supplies Jetson compute modules and Isaac robotics development tools. Review its simulation, learning and integration roles, dated ecosystem evidence and procurement questions, with official documentation and SEC corporate background.
NVIDIA's role in the robotics supply chain
NVIDIA supplies accelerated computing and development software used by robot builders, research teams and system integrators. Its Isaac platform combines simulation, robot learning, accelerated libraries and AI models for mobile robots, manipulators and humanoids. Its Form 10-K for the year ended 25 January 2026 provides corporate background and describes its physical AI platform.
Purchasing a compute module or downloading a model does not by itself deliver an installed robot. The complete project still needs a robot manufacturer or integration team responsible for mechanics, sensors, controls, application software and commissioning. Research reviewed: 10 September 2026. Descriptions below reflect official documentation and dated announcements.
Jetson modules and development hardware
The Jetson module lineup includes AGX Thor, AGX Orin, Orin NX and Orin Nano families. NVIDIA separates production modules from developer kits used to develop and test software. The appropriate choice depends on the workload, memory, sensor interfaces, power budget, enclosure and cooling design, rather than the family name alone.
Specify whether the quotation covers a developer kit, a module, a carrier board or an assembled computer. Ask for the exact module SKU, supported software release and included storage, power supply and thermal hardware. Benchmark the proposed application with its real camera streams and model configuration; headline AI throughput is not a robot's task completion rate or guaranteed response time.
Isaac ROS for perception and motion applications
Isaac ROS provides CUDA-accelerated packages and AI models built around ROS 2. Official examples include visual localization and mapping, scene reconstruction, object pose estimation and motion planning. The packages can form part of a larger robotics software pipeline on supported workstations or Jetson systems.
For an existing robot, identify which function actually needs improvement: object detection, localization, grasp planning or another measurable task. Confirm camera drivers, message formats, timestamps and the interface to the robot controller. An accelerated perception component does not establish the behavior of the entire robot when an object is missed, a sensor disconnects or a route becomes blocked.
Isaac Sim and Isaac Lab serve different workflows
Isaac Sim is a reference framework for robotics simulation, testing and synthetic data generation using NVIDIA Omniverse libraries. Its documented workflow includes importing robot and scene assets, configuring physics and sensors, and evaluating systems through software-in-the-loop or hardware-in-the-loop tests.
Isaac Lab focuses on robot learning, including reinforcement learning and imitation learning. It supports policy training across robot embodiments and provides documentation for installation and development. Select the actual release and supported simulation configuration before committing a training workflow.
A useful simulation pilot reproduces a defined task and tests variations such as lighting, object positions and contact conditions. Compare simulated outcomes with controlled physical trials. Simulation quality depends on the model and assumptions; success in a virtual scene is not proof of acceptable field performance.
GR00T and the development work around a model
The Isaac overview describes GR00T as a reference platform for humanoid development, combining models, data pipelines, simulation, middleware and runtime libraries. The platform gives developers building blocks for training and deploying robot policies. It is not a catalogue of finished humanoids available for installation from NVIDIA.
Ask the engineering team which model and version will be used, what demonstrations or training data are needed, how the policy maps to the proposed hardware and how performance will be evaluated. Review the applicable licenses for code, model weights, datasets and other dependencies individually. A public download does not answer every commercial-use, support or redistribution question.
Dated product and ecosystem evidence
NVIDIA's 25 August 2025 announcement states that Jetson AGX Thor developer kits and production modules became generally available. It names early adopters and separately identifies companies evaluating Thor. Those statements establish announcement-stage adoption or evaluation; they do not verify a particular customer's fleet size or production outcome.
In its 21 October 2024 announcement, Universal Robots introduced the AI Accelerator toolkit using NVIDIA Isaac libraries and models with Jetson AGX Orin and PolyScope X. This is a concrete partner product example. The current UR documentation describes the compute, camera and software integration. It does not imply that every UR robot or Robotiq attachment supports every software combination.
Questions for a development or integration quotation
Which robot, task, operating environment and measurable result are in scope?
Which compute SKU, carrier, sensors, cooling and power components are included?
Which software and model versions have been validated together?
Who supplies training data, robot models and application-specific engineering?
How will latency, task success, recovery and operator intervention be measured?
Who owns the application code, trained assets and deployment configuration?
What update, maintenance, spare hardware and local integration support is included?
Which costs cover development hardware, production hardware, engineering and ongoing support?
Define acceptance criteria around the complete task. Public demonstrations and benchmark tables should inform a trial design, not replace a representative test with the offered hardware and software.
