Comparing Robot Quotes: A Normalisation Worksheet
Turn five different quotes into one table you can defend.
Columns that matter
| Field | Why |
|---|---|
| Robot model and payload | Different machines are not comparable per se |
| End effector included? | Often the largest hidden gap |
| Safety scope | Fence versus scanner changes price and layout |
| Infrastructure included? | Power, air, floor, network |
| Training days and seats | Frequently excluded |
| Warranty start point | Shipment or acceptance |
| Exclusions list | The most informative part of the quote |
Method
- Normalise everything to the same scope, including infrastructure and training.
- Value the exclusions yourself at your own labour rate.
- Model five years of running cost, not one year.
- Then rank, and note where your own assumptions could change the order.
