How Our Robot Company Directory Is Compiled: Method and Limits
Published: 2026-10-19 17:20 (UTC+8) | Data as of: 2026-10-19 | Source: Zhilianhai robot company directory
What the directory contains
As of 19 October 2026 the directory indexes 634,095 company records covering 32 provincial regions and 289 cities. Each record holds a company name, category, province and city, plus an excerpt of the registered business scope. A further 460 records have been reviewed in detail and have their own profile pages.
Where the data comes from
Records are compiled from publicly available business registration listings and industry material. Duplicate names are merged, and the business-scope excerpt is truncated so that the directory shows the head of the scope rather than the full legal text.
How categories are assigned
- If the company name contains a specific category keyword, that category wins.
- Otherwise the primary type field from the source data is used.
- Otherwise the first 60 characters of the business scope are matched against category keywords.
Only the head of the business scope is used. Matching the full text pulls in companies that merely mention robots near the end of a long scope, which was the main source of wrong categories before this rule was tightened.
What we do not claim
- Inclusion does not certify a company, its qualifications, capacity or delivery record.
- The category is an index tool, not a ranking or a market-size statistic.
- City counts reflect where companies are registered, not where they deliver projects.
- Where an official website is missing, the record links to a public search instead of guessing one.
How to use it
Use the directory to narrow a candidate pool by category and region, then verify each shortlisted company on its own website, product pages and public project records. For market sizing, use sources with a stated statistical method such as association reports.
