Contract Manufacturing with Robotic Cells
Selling capacity rather than equipment.
How it works
A supplier installs and runs a robot cell inside the customer's plant, or in its own facility, and invoices per part, per hour or per month. The customer avoids capital expenditure and the supplier earns from utilisation.
Terms that matter
- What counts as a billable unit and how it is measured.
- Minimum volume commitments and how shortfalls are treated.
- Who supplies materials and who carries scrap cost.
- Quality responsibility and the inspection method.
Capacity contracts live or die on the measurement definition. Write it before pricing.
