Clarification Questions: When and How to Ask
Clarifications are free information. Use the window properly.
Plan the questions
| Stage | What to do |
|---|---|
| Before the deadline | Read the documents twice and list every ambiguity |
| Drafting | Separate technical, commercial and procedural questions |
| Submitting | Send them through the official channel by the stated deadline |
| Answers | Treat the written answer as part of the tender documents |
Good practice
- Ask one question per numbered item so answers stay traceable.
- Never rely on a verbal answer given at a site visit.
- Keep a copy of every question and answer pair in your bid file.
- If an answer changes the scope, re-check your price and schedule.
Only the issuing body can change the tender documents. Work from the official written answers.
