Illustrative Project Brief: Internal Logistics AMR Pilot
Plan a bounded internal logistics AMR pilot with route inputs, interface owners, recovery tests and acceptance gates. An illustrative planning brief, with no live tender or buyer commitment.
Purpose and pilot boundary
This illustrative planning brief is an original Zhilianhai editorial checklist. It describes no live tender, client assignment or actual project budget. Use it to test whether an autonomous mobile robot can support one defined internal material flow before considering wider deployment. Start with a named pickup point, destination and load family; add other routes only after the first route produces usable evidence.
Record the current process, including waiting, loading, walking, unloading and exception handling. Agree which part the pilot will change and which tasks remain with people. Leave target values blank until the site team has measured the baseline.
Collect route and load inputs
Prepare a dated layout and representative load samples. Measure the loaded vehicle envelope, turning locations, floor transitions and temporary obstructions. The MiR250 product page distinguishes the mobile platform from handling add-ons; specify the proposed load interface separately.
Load dimensions, mass range, stability and pickup presentation: to be completed.
Traffic peaks, aisle crossings, doors, lifts and restricted areas: to be surveyed.
Charging space, wireless coverage and maintenance access: owner to be assigned.
Manual fallback and safe storage for delayed loads: to be agreed.
Define integration and responsibility
Draw the mission sequence from request through delivery confirmation. Identify who creates a job, verifies that the load is ready and confirms receipt. MiR Fleet documents centralized mission coordination and enterprise interfaces. Those capabilities make interface scope relevant; they do not establish compatibility with a particular warehouse system.
Request an interface register covering data fields, permissions, unavailable services and recovery ownership. MiR's software integration curriculum includes REST requests. Ask the integrator to demonstrate the proposed messages and error handling in a controlled environment before connecting production systems.
Set acceptance gates before operation
Use separate gates for site readiness, supervised operation and repeatable performance. Name the people who can authorize each transition. Have the responsible specialists review the operating arrangement and recovery procedure before testing alongside normal traffic.
Readiness: route, load interface, charging and approved operating instructions are available.
Functional acceptance: normal delivery, rejected request and unavailable destination have recorded outcomes.
Operational acceptance: completed missions, waiting, interventions and recovery time meet agreed site targets.
Log the observation period, load mix and traffic conditions. Include unsuccessful missions in the denominator and separate robot faults from upstream delays.
Control risks and changes
Maintain a short register for unstable loads, route congestion, poor connectivity and unstaffed handoffs. Give each risk an owner, a control and a condition that stops the trial. Schedule tests of approved recovery scenarios; never improvise hazardous obstruction tests.
Freeze the route and software configuration for each measurement period. If a doorway, load carrier or workflow changes, record the revision and decide which tests must be repeated. A successful quiet shift is evidence for that shift's conditions, not proof of peak capacity.
Deliver a decision package
Deliver the survey, agreed scope, interface register, training record, mission log, acceptance results and unresolved issues. Recommend continue, revise or stop against the criteria established at the start. Any rollout proposal should explain additional routes, staffing and support assumptions.
