Diagnosing Common Robot Alarms
An alarm is a symptom. Find the trigger condition first.
Typical alarm families
| Alarm | Common causes |
|---|---|
| Servo overload | Excess load, mechanical binding, brake not releasing |
| Encoder fault | Connector contact or low backup battery |
| Collision or force limit | Part variation or wrong frame settings |
| Communication timeout | Loose network cable or a device that is not powered |
Working method
- Record the code and the motion step at the moment of the fault.
- Establish whether it repeats and whether it follows a batch of parts.
- Work through the manual rather than adjusting parameters to bypass protection.
When the same alarm returns, stop and investigate instead of resetting repeatedly.
