Company Profile: Unitree Robotics — Humanoid and Legged Platforms
A primary-source profile of Unitree's humanoid and legged platforms, explaining model options, developer access, dated demonstrations and international procurement boundaries.
Company and product scope
Unitree Robotics develops and sells legged robots, humanoids, manipulators and related components. Its official portfolio separates consumer or education quadrupeds, industrial quadrupeds and humanoids. The company lists its headquarters in Hangzhou, China. This breadth matters when assessing a supplier reference: an inspection project involving a quadruped does not demonstrate equivalent capability in a G1 or H2 humanoid. Company background; Company locations.
Humanoid families and configurations
The current catalog includes H2, R1, G1 and H1/H1-2 humanoids, alongside separately listed application configurations. G1's comparison table distinguishes G1 and G1 EDU: developer access, additional joints, hands and computing options depend on configuration. A demonstration showing dexterous manipulation should therefore be checked against the exact hardware being quoted. Current catalog; G1 configuration table.
H2 likewise has standard and EDU configurations. Its table distinguishes custom-development computing and optional hand or high-performance computing choices. Headline processing or manipulation claims should not be assumed to describe every base unit. Ask the supplier to identify the delivered configuration, software release and development permissions as separate line items. H2 product specifications.
Development and control ecosystem
Unitree's official software organization publishes robot SDKs, simulation resources, reinforcement-learning examples and humanoid teleoperation projects. Its SDK2 repository provides an interface for supported robots, while the organization links distinct tools for data collection and learning workflows. These resources make Unitree relevant to research and integration teams, but software availability is not a promise that a complete customer task already works on delivery. Official development resources; SDK2 repository.
Before selecting a platform, ask which SDK version matches its controller and firmware, what APIs are available on the purchased edition, and which example policies may be used commercially. Define who maintains custom behavior when firmware, sensors or hands change. A repeatable simulation is a useful development step but requires separate validation on physical hardware.
Dated demonstrations and testing
Unitree's timeline records a January 28, 2025 Spring Festival Gala performance involving H1 humanoids. It also reports a February 16, 2026 gala performance with G1 and H2 robots. These are examples of public performance and motion coordination, not evidence of factory throughput or unsupervised household work. Dated company timeline.
The same timeline says that, on February 13, 2026, Unitree introduced an embodied intelligence model and tested it at its own robot manufacturing facility. That wording supports an internal testing example. It does not establish completed acceptance at an external customer's plant or the commercial availability of every behavior shown. 2026 development and internal testing account.
Operating boundaries
Unitree's G1 page explicitly states that some sample functions are still under development and testing. It also notes that specifications vary by scenario and configuration, and that arm load depends on extension posture. Those qualifications are material procurement information. A buyer should assess sustained task performance, rather than combining peak joint torque, maximum load and demonstration speed into one imagined operating condition. G1 specification notes.
The H2 page asks users to maintain adequate separation from people and to understand the limitations of humanoid robots. Determine the required test enclosure, fall zone, emergency controls, operator training and recovery equipment for the intended installation. Public entertainment demonstrations do not replace a site-specific operating procedure. H2 operating cautions.
International sales and support
Unitree lists sales_global@unitree.com for sales and support@unitree.com for technical support, with an online service channel on its contact page. These are routes to confirm the proposed destination, seller, delivery terms and after-sales arrangements. A global email address or English catalog does not establish unrestricted supply, local certification or on-site support in every jurisdiction. Official sales and support contacts.
Procurement questions
Is the proposal for a base model, EDU model or custom application configuration?
Which hands, sensors, computers, batteries and development permissions are included?
Which demonstrated functions are released on the delivered software, and which remain experimental?
Can the evaluation report task success, human interventions, falls, recovery time and battery behavior?
Who handles commissioning, training, warranty transport and spare parts in the destination country?
Evidence limits and next steps
Reviewed September 10, 2026 using Unitree's own catalog, documentation and company timeline. Supplier descriptions and public demonstrations are not independent reliability or safety certification. Confirm local supply and the contracted task scope directly with the manufacturer or a verified sales partner.
