Company Profile: Fourier — GRx Humanoids and Interaction Development
A source-based profile of Fourier's GRx humanoids, covering GR-3 interaction design, configuration choices, software resources and practical deployment questions.
Company and humanoid focus
Fourier maintains the GRx humanoid robot family and an official developer documentation center. Its published material includes GR-1, GR-2 and GR-3, as well as components and software resources. This profile concerns humanoid interaction and robotics development; a product described as a Care-bot should not automatically be treated as an approved medical device or a substitute for professional care. GR-3 and configuration boundaries
Fourier presents GR-3 as a humanoid designed for interactive companionship in public service spaces. Its Full-Sense Interaction System combines hearing, vision and touch, and its exterior uses soft covering materials. These are the supplier's design and interaction descriptions, not independently established emotional understanding or a guarantee of safe contact in every setting. GR-3 robot overview.
The same specification identifies a base hand configuration and an optional hand with additional degrees of freedom. The maximum joint count is configuration-dependent. A procurement specification should identify the chosen hands and sensors rather than copy the highest number from a family-level headline. GR-2 has its own mechanical and computing specifications and should be evaluated separately. GR-3 options; GR-2 technical overview.
Software and application development
The GR-3 capability map describes interfaces for motion, perception, arm and hand control, power monitoring and communications. It also lists simulation, learning and teleoperation data workflows. These interfaces form building blocks for applications; they should not be read as a statement that a complete customer workflow is supplied without development. Confirm which interfaces are available on the purchased hardware and licensed software. GR-3 capability map.
The earlier SDK overview explains Aurora middleware, a Python interface and DDS communication for robot status and commands. It distinguishes motion-control development from head-domain services such as cameras, microphones and displays. A buyer should establish the supported SDK branch, migration path and responsibility for maintaining custom applications. Aurora and software overview.
Dated evidence and application maturity
Fourier's developer update log contains a June 30, 2026 entry announcing the GRx documentation center. The capability map carries a June 16, 2026 update date and presents programmatic motion and interaction capabilities. These are dated evidence of developer-facing resources. They are not records of a completed customer deployment or an independently measured service outcome. Documentation release entry; Dated capability documentation.
The GR-2 overview describes experimental applications in areas including guided information services, research and industrial work. Its wording should remain experimental in a buyer profile. This review did not verify a dated, named customer acceptance report for a GR-3 service deployment; request such a reference if operational experience is a selection criterion. GR-2 application description.
Site setup and operating requirements
The official GR-3 unboxing guide, updated June 25, 2026, requires a lifting device for startup and shutdown procedures and describes use of a handheld control application. This is a concrete installation consideration: handling equipment, trained personnel and suitable space belong in the deployment plan. The abbreviated profile is not a substitute for the full manual and manufacturer training. GR-3 handling and operation guide.
For an interaction pilot, define permitted gestures, contact rules, audience separation, accessible stop controls and responses to communication loss. Agree which conversations are scripted or model-generated, which data leave the site, and when a human takes over. Assess the robot in the actual acoustic and lighting conditions.
Commercial contact and regional scope
Fourier's official documentation lists generalrobot@fftai.com for academic and sales inquiries. Use that route to request a configuration-specific proposal, current delivery status and a local support arrangement. Documentation in English does not establish worldwide stock, import eligibility or a service network for every humanoid model. Official academic and sales contacts.
Questions before purchase
Which GR model, hand option, sensing package and software release are included?
What applications are delivered, and what requires integration or data collection?
Are lifting equipment, training, replacement batteries and commissioning included?
Can a comparable reference distinguish experimental use from accepted daily operations?
Who owns interaction recordings, controls remote access and maintains software locally?
Source limits and buyer route
Reviewed September 10, 2026. This profile relies on Fourier's official technical documentation. Some older commercial pages were not readable during review, so current configuration, availability and contractual support require confirmation. No clinical benefit, universal certification or guaranteed autonomous service is inferred.
