Handover and Training Requirements in Tender Documents
What you ask for at handover decides how the first year goes.
Spell these out
| Item | What to require |
|---|---|
| Documents | Layout drawings, programs, parameters and spare parts list |
| Training | Days, audience and topics, with a competence check |
| Data | Backups of programs and configuration handed over on media |
| Warranty | Start date, exclusions and response obligations |
| Escalation | Named contacts and response times after handover |
Common omissions
- Training is promised but never scheduled, so operators learn by trial.
- Program backups stay with the integrator, leaving the buyer dependent.
- No named contact, so every fault starts with a search.
Anything you need after handover should be written into the tender, not agreed verbally later.
