Joint Feasibility Studies Before Bidding
A short joint study reduces the cost of a long argument later.
What the study should settle
| Item | Output |
|---|---|
| Technical route | Agreed architecture and interfaces |
| Cost model | Shared build-up with named assumptions |
| Schedule | Milestones both partners can commit to |
| Risk list | Who owns each risk and what mitigation applies |
| Commercial split | How the price and the margin are divided |
How to run it cheaply
- Time-box it: two weeks is often enough for a bid decision.
- Agree in advance who pays for the study and what happens if you do not bid.
- Write the output down, even if it is only two pages.
A feasibility study is an investment in the bid, not a commitment to proceed.
