Risk Registers for Joint Projects
Two partners, one risk list.
Keep it simple
| Column | Content |
|---|---|
| Risk | Short description in plain language |
| Owner | One person, not a committee |
| Impact | Cost, schedule or quality effect |
| Likelihood | High, medium or low |
| Action | What is being done and by when |
| Status | Open, monitoring or closed |
Review discipline
- Walk the register at every project meeting, or it goes stale.
- Close risks explicitly rather than letting them fade.
- Escalate anything owned by the other partner early and in writing.
A register is a communication tool first and a document second.
