Trade-In and Buy-Back Programmes
Trading in old equipment can shorten the decision cycle.
What to settle
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Valuation basis | Inspection, age and condition, not list price |
| Timing | When the credit is applied to the new order |
| Logistics | Who removes and transports the old unit |
| Data | Wiping programs and any stored data |
| Documentation | Transfer of records and any remaining warranty |
Getting a fair value
- Get more than one valuation, or sell on the open market to compare.
- Clear the tooling question: fixtures may be worth more than the robot.
- Confirm the credit in writing before signing the new contract.
Trade-in values track the used market. Benchmark before accepting the first offer.
