Cable Management for Multi-Axis Arms
Cable failures look like control faults until you find the break.
Design rules
| Item | Practice |
|---|---|
| Routing | Follow the manufacturer dress pack where one exists |
| Bending radius | Respect the minimum for each cable type |
| Strain relief | Anchor before connectors, not after |
| Separation | Keep power and signal runs apart |
| Service loop | Leave enough slack for full-range motion |
Maintenance points
- Inspect the dress pack at the wrist, where flexing is greatest.
- Look for abrasion at clamps and pass-throughs.
- Replace cables as a set where they run together.
Cable faults are one of the most common intermittent robot problems. Check cabling before changing parameters.
