Safe Operating Procedures for Robot Cells
If it is not written down, the shift will invent it.
What the procedure should cover
| Section | Content |
|---|---|
| Start-up | Checks before power and before production |
| Normal operation | What operators may and may not adjust |
| Faults | What to do, and what to leave alone |
| Entry | How to enter safely and who authorises it |
| Shutdown | Including end of shift and longer stops |
Making it real
- Write it with the operators, in their language.
- Display the short version at the cell.
- Review it after every change to the cell or the process.
Safe operating procedures must satisfy local requirements. Confirm them with the site safety function.
