Aligning Partner Estimates Before Pricing
Two estimates built differently produce one wrong price.
Align these items first
| Item | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Assumptions | Same site conditions, same working hours |
| Labour rates | Different rates distort the split |
| Contingency | Double contingency makes you uncompetitive |
| Exclusions | Overlapping exclusions leave gaps |
| Currency and tax | Agree the basis before adding up |
How to reconcile
- Build one shared cost model rather than adding two spreadsheets.
- Reconcile the top five cost lines line by line.
- Record who owns which assumption.
Estimating practices differ between companies. Agree the basis in writing before the figures are merged.
