Joint Warranty Obligations
Who fixes what, and who pays, should be decided before it breaks.
What to agree
| Item | Content |
|---|---|
| Scope | Which partner warrants which deliverable |
| Response | Who attends site and within what time |
| Costs | Labour, travel, parts and downtime |
| Boundary faults | What happens where responsibility is unclear |
| Customer contact | Which partner owns the customer relationship during warranty |
Practical steps
- Keep one warranty register covering the whole system.
- Diagnose jointly before assigning responsibility.
- Log every claim, even the ones resolved informally.
Warranty terms flow from the customer contract. Keep the consortium terms consistent with it.
