Ocean Infinity: Marine Robotics, Offshore Surveys and Remote Operations
Ocean Infinity combines marine robotics, vessels and onshore teams for survey and inspection services. Review Armada fleet evidence, a PETRONAS project and procurement boundaries.
Ocean Infinity's marine robotics service model
Ocean Infinity combines marine operations, robotics, software and data processing to deliver offshore services. Its group privacy notice identifies Ocean Infinity Group Limited and regional operating companies. The contracting entity and project delivery team should be confirmed for each location.
For a buyer, the starting point is the required survey, inspection or data outcome. A project proposal may combine vessels, underwater equipment, remote specialists and processing services. This requires a different evaluation from selecting a standalone inspection robot for an internal team.
Service families and required outputs
The current services page lists seabed mapping, hydrographic survey, geotechnical sampling, seismic services, asset inspection, environmental survey and search and salvage. Applications include offshore energy, subsea telecommunications and scientific work.
These activities produce different deliverables. A bathymetric map, an asset inspection record and a geotechnical sample require different sensors, sampling plans and quality controls. Define the engineering decision the output will support, then agree the equipment and processing necessary to provide it.
Armada vessels and robotics infrastructure
On 15 December 2025 Ocean Infinity reported delivery of the final vessel in its fourteen-vessel Armada fleet. The statement distinguished twelve vessels already in live operation from two still following into operation. It described both 78-metre and 86-metre classes and a lean-crewed operating model.
Fleet delivery and active project deployment are separate milestones. A buyer should request the vessel and equipment assigned to its project, rather than assume every unit is available or identically equipped. Ocean Infinity's technology overview describes custom robotics integrated with control infrastructure and automated data processing; it is not a universal vehicle specification.
Remote operations retain human responsibility
In a 3 September 2026 operational article, Ocean Infinity explains how specialist work moves between vessels, remote operations centres and onshore teams. It describes remotely controlled payloads and onshore data quality control while emphasizing continued human oversight.
For procurement, document who plans the mission, controls each asset, checks data and authorizes changes. Agree communications resilience, handover procedures and recovery when immediate physical access is unavailable. Terms such as remote, uncrewed and autonomous should be defined for the proposed operation, since they describe different arrangements.
PETRONAS project evidence from July 2025
A 14 July 2025 company report describes an offshore PETRONAS project that delivered seabed data to the client's headquarters in real time. Ocean Infinity states that client representatives could oversee the work without being physically offshore. The account describes a lean crew at sea supported by onshore operations.
This is evidence of a named commercial data workflow. It does not prove that every vessel operation was uncrewed or that all projects can achieve the same communications performance. Ask for the proposed service's data latency, availability, quality review and fallback arrangements rather than extrapolating from the case.
Define technical acceptance before mobilization
Provide the survey area, water-depth range, target assets, required resolution and positional accuracy. Agree coverage, coordinate reference system, vertical datum, sensor calibration, metadata and file formats. Define how gaps, uncertain targets and rejected data are handled, including who authorizes repeat acquisition.
Specify the seabed conditions, expected weather window, access constraints and interactions with other marine activity. For sampling or inspection, identify required evidence, chain of custody and interpretation responsibilities. A robotic platform's nominal capability should be evaluated as part of the entire acquisition and processing chain.
Commercial and operational procurement boundaries
Use the official contact route to request a scoped proposal. Distinguish equipment rental, managed acquisition, processing and interpretation. Include mobilization, demobilization, vessel time, remote operations, data transfer, reporting and any subcontracted specialist work.
Agree weather downtime, standby charges, change control and the treatment of additional survey coverage. Confirm local project permissions, the operator's responsibilities, insurance and emergency arrangements with the contracting parties. Establish ownership and permitted use of raw and processed data. Fleet scale or a prior case does not create a guaranteed schedule, discovery result or project saving.
