Robot Mounting and Base Terms
Where the robot stands changes what it can reach.
Terms

| Mounting flange | The interface where the robot meets its base or pedestal |
| Base frame | The coordinate system at the robot mounting |
| Pedestal height | Distance from floor to mounting surface |
| Overturning moment | Force that tries to tip the mounting under load |
| Stiffness | How much the mounting deflects under dynamic load |
Why it matters
- A flexible mounting turns positioning error into vibration.
- Height changes reach and access, sometimes for the better.
- Anchor design must match the floor and the dynamic loads.
