Motion Terms: Joint, Linear and Circular
The instruction you choose changes the path, not just the destination.
Terms
| Term | Behaviour |

| Joint move | Each axis moves independently to reach the target |
| Linear move | The tool follows a straight line |
| Circular move | The tool follows an arc through a defined point |
| Blending | Rounding between successive instructions |
| Override | Speed scaling applied at run time |
When each is used
- Joint moves are faster for travelling between work areas.
- Linear moves are essential for approach and process paths.
- Blending reduces cycle time but changes the path slightly.
